Larry Langer - Chief Executive Officer

As President and CEO of Langer Equestrian Group for more than forty years, Larry is immersed in the horse industry. LEG runs almost 40 hunter/jumper and dressage shows at six different locations in California and Colorado. In 2009 Larry was given a Lifetime Achievement award by the California Professional Horsemen’s Association and in 2010 he received the USHJA’s Lifetime Achievement award. In 2012 Larry was inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame.

Larry is highly involved in sport governance and serves as the Secretary of the United States Hunter Jumper Association. With LEGIS, Larry is committed to supporting the agency’s growth. “We value the opportunity to provide beneficial insurance services for all – riders, owners, amateurs, professionals, and of course the horses themselves.”

Marnye Langer - Managing Director

As Langer Equestrian Group’s Chief Financial Officer, Marnye uses those business skills to guide LEGIS and its talented Team. In addition to an MBA, Marnye earned the highly esteemed Certified Insurance Counselor designation along with the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist designation. Marnye is a USEF “R” Judge for Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation, serves as a Director of the USHJA Foundation, and is President of the Los Angeles Hunter Jumper Association.

Marnye has owned and ridden at all levels of the hunter/jumper sport, and these days she focuses primarily on the Amateur Owner Jumpers. Besides understanding the needs of a horse owner, Marnye’s mother was a professional horseman so she understands the needs of today’s professionals, and she also works with clubs, associations, and horse show organizers. As a published author, she puts her journalism skills to work writing about insurance issues pertaining to the equine industry.

Sarah Rajoy - Operations Manager

Sarah has been with LEGIS from day one and has helped the agency grow into one of the best equine focused insurance agencies in the country. To be among the best, Sarah has added to her extensive horse knowledge with in depth insurance education. Sarah earned the prestigious Certified Insurance Counselor designation along with the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist designation.

When she is not busy working with LEGIS clients, Sarah shows in jumpers and eventing. She has successfully developed several young horses, and is a USEF Technical Delegate for Eventing. Sarah is pursuing her FEI Steward license, her USEF Jumper Judge license, and serves as a Director of the California Professional Horsemen’s Association Foundation.

Courtney Leonard, Farm, Ranch, Liability Specialist

Courtney Leonard brings a wealth of horse and business experience to the LEGIS team. She has ridden and shown in dressage and three day eventing for many years. With the variety of horse jobs she has held over the years, including grooming, riding, and teaching, she has deep insight into the dynamics of the industry and the needs of horse owners and professionals. As a result, Courtney specializes in working with clients on their insurance needs for property, equipment, and liability.

To augment her equine accomplishments, Courtney is working toward her professional insurance designations as a Certified Insurance Service Representative and Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist. She holds a degree in psychology from California State University at Northridge, and works as a riding instructor on weekends.


Amanda McQuady – Horse Insurance Specialist


As a passionate horsewoman since she was very young, Amanda knew she wanted to work with horses but she did not know exactly what path she would follow. She has found her path as a member of the LEGIS Team and has acquired a depth of knowledge of insurance pertaining to horses. To augment her knowledge, Amanda is working toward her designation as an Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist.

As a horse owner herself, Amanda really understands the needs and concerns of fellow owners. She takes great pride in helping LEGIS clients find the best coverage to meet their objectives. She shows her stallion, Picardo, in Amateur Owner Jumpers, has won many top honors, and she thoroughly enjoys following the offspring of Picardo.


Claire Johnson - Administrative Assistant


After graduating college and working as a riding instructor, Claire knew she wanted a career in the equine field. With LEGIS she found a perfect fit. Claire helps keep the office running smoothly, fields the majority of the phone calls, and assists both Amanda and Courtney. Claire has her insurance license and enjoys helping LEGIS clients, answers many different questions, and enjoys learning about the many facets of insurance for the horse industry. Claire is also working toward her designation as an Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist.

Claire enjoys riding and loves meeting LEGIS clients at horse shows and making LEGIS “friends” on Facebook. She makes sure the LEGIS Facebook page is up to date and filled with fun posts.


Jackie Gelfand & Evan Jung – Office Assistants

Jackie and Evan are valuable members of our Team and help with important tasks to keep the office running smoothly. Jackie is retired from her professional career and enjoys working as part of the LEGIS Team. She has taken dressage lessons for much of her adult life. Evan is a college student who works at LEGIS between his studies. Evan has been part of Langer Equestrian Group’s Grand Prix Production Team and has done some other horse show work. Although not a rider himself, he likes the horse world and has learned a great deal.


Matt Harris - Field Agent

Matt Harris brings with him experience as a professional horseman and he has participated at some of the most prestigious shows on both the east and west coasts. He has run his own barn, worked as a rider, and has served as a barn manager for some of the biggest trainers at some of the largest horse shows in the country. Matt is also a USEF jumper judge and an announcer, officiating at more than a dozen shows a year. Matt understands the needs of the horse owner and the professional.
